As has been mentioned previously, IGI 2 multiplayer will employ a cash system similar to that found in Counter-Strike. Players will be able to purchase weapons from a substantial list of 30 that will be available, and will also be required to foot the bill for venturing back into the action if they bite the bullet.

Interestingly, the price of buying yourself back into the action decreases as time goes on. It's hoped that this will provide an extra tactical edge to multiplayer as gamers weigh up the pros and cons of leaping straight back into the fray or biding their time and saving financial resources that could prove vital at another point in proceedings.

The multiplayer side of IGI 2 will support at least 16 gamers online and 32 over LAN, and apparently has no upper player limit. It all sounds pretty good to us, and what's even better is that Codemasters' has hinted that a demo is highly likely to appear before Christmas. Excellent.

IGI 2: Covert Strike is scheduled for a February 2003 release. In the meantime, enjoy the shots.
